BC Children’s Hospital – Centre for Health Complexity

The BC Children’s Slocan Street Site will feature a new three-storey centre for health complexity, serving children, families, caregivers, and health-care professionals. The building is located within a nearly 6-acre green space that includes existing healthcare facilities, a wellness path, the retention of existing mature canopy trees, a 74-space daycare, an All Nations Plaza, roof-level therapeutic gardens, public green spaces and a community garden. The design principles of Health & Wellness, Placemaking, and Resilience inform the landscape to create a welcoming and warm, non-institutional setting with an overarching goal of connecting people to nature.
