Douglas Border Crossing
Peace Arch
Linking British Columbia and Washington State, the landmark LEED® Gold facility at the Douglas Border Crossing welcomes visitors to Canada. As one of North America’s busiest border crossings, the project’s challenge was to construct a new facility while remaining open for daily operations. The crossing adheres to strict security standards and successfully integrates sustainable initiatives, reflecting the environment and culture of the West Coast. Naturescape compliant plantings, permeable paving, and a high-efficiency irrigation system address stormwater management requirements through a collective and cost effective approach.
