Port Mann Highway 1 Landscape Restoration

Lower Mainland, BC

Award winning P3 design and restoration of 37 km highway corridor. Our objective was to complement overpasses and structures with terrain earthworks and plantings, while meeting aesthetic, safety, and functional requirements, and adding visual interest for the driver.

Special attention was given to symbolic gateways and character treatment zones, interchange and mainline highway landscape, bicycle circulation, screening, procurement strategy and improving poor subsoil conditions. Our scope also addressed visual character analysis, establishing and negotiating design criteria with TI Corp, development of a scheduling and resource strategy, and typical plans, details, and sections.
